It keeps throwing 'object reference not set to an instance of an object' errors. MusicBee also has an iPod plugin, which is also no longer supported, and I am struggling to get this to work as well. I'm having trouble getting the right version of FFMPEG that works with it to do the conversions. I found an app called Floola that looks to do exactly this but it's old and no longer supported. What I really want is an app that can sync iPods, where I can drop in a playlist that contains FLACs and the app will auto convert to 320 MP3 when syncing. I also need to manually recreate playlists in iTunes because my MusicBee playlists contain FLACs and are also in a different location. I need to convert from FLAC to 320 MP3 every time I want to add an album to my iPod.

In order to sync my iPods, I've been keeping a separate folder with music I want on my iPod and I point iTunes to that folder, but it requires a lot of manual work. My issue is a lot of my music is in FLAC format which of course can't be synced to an iPod. I've decided to use Banshee for my regular music player and manager, but Floola for my Windows client and Linux client when I just want to listen to music. When it comes to media management for your iPhone, iPad or iPod, iTunes is the default way you go. Almost anything you can do with iTunes you can do with Floola. Floola can let you manage your notes, Banshee can't. Floola can interface with Google Calendar, Banshee can't. Floola can manage photos on the iPod, but Banshee can't. In addition, a user can search for lost or duplicate files, videos, copy and extract. Floola can be run directly from an iPod and can be used to manage your artwork, podcasts, smart playlists and notifications.

Rhythmbox is a good music manager, but crashes when it needs to connect to my iPod. I've used Amarok 1.4 (barely worked with my iPod) and the new 2.0 which doesn't work at all when my iPod is attached. I have used LOTS of iPod managers and other music players in Linux, and so far Floola is the best at managing my iPod.
